DIY Nutella Mug Cake
One Day I was at the dollar store looking for some random gift fillers for my little brother (things like candy, notebooks, fuzzy socks, pencil crayons, wooden things he could paint, etc). While looking around I saw a mug cake powder package that said all you had to do was add milk and cook it in the microwave. I thought this was great because this way my little bro could make his own treat without help from anyone else. I grabbed a couple of the packages and since then we’ve been obsessed with mug cake. Since buying dollar store food isn’t always the best thing to do I decided to DIY a mug cake. But not just any mug cake… a Nutella mug cake!
You will need:
– a mug
– 4 tablespoons of flour
– half a teaspoon of baking powder
– 4 tablespoons of sugar
– 2 tablespoons of milk
– 2 tablespoons of cocoa (we used Hershey’s)
– 3 tablespoons of Nutella (this is sortof hard to get if you are half way through the jug already, but if you are half way you can use a long spoon or knife to help get it out)
– 1 egg
– half a teaspoon of Vanilla
Mix the dry ingredients in your mug. We found that a fork was a good tool to use for mixing.
Add the egg and mix it all together.
Add the milk, vanilla, and Nutella. Stir.
Microwave. We started out microwaving it for 1 minute but found it wasn’t fully cooked so we put it in for another 17 seconds. Be carful not to over cook it and remember that it is best when it still has some gooeyness to it.
Take it out and enjoy!
